Once I wrote to a friend of ours something about how the Russian soul likes to open up and give too much of itself,
and when there's nothing left in it, it expects too much again. I no longer remember the context of this reasoning or its conclusion.

comes to mind every time I see smiling Tanya in the background of the confluence of the Volga and Kotorosl rivers in Yaroslavl.

kindness, attentiveness, energy, and tireless dedication. I always realize again how deeply Tanya's presence and her friendship
shaped my view of the world and of Russia itself, and how nothing and no one can spoil or destroy my experience and my impression.
